Dr Chawda qualified from The University of Wales College of Medicine and attained the MRCP during junior medical training in Leeds.

Following general radiology training in Cardiff, he specialised in Neuroradiology during a two year fellowship in London. He gained experience at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, The Royal London Hospital, St Bartholomews Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital.

As a Consultant Neuroradiologist since 2000, he set up the regional Neurointerventional Service at Queens University Hospital, Romford, Essex and was the lead Neuroradiologist at the Essex Centre for Neuroscience from 2000-2020. He was also Clinical Director for Radiology from 2004-2008 and 2017-2020.

He has actively participated in Dementia, Skull Base, Orbit, Normal Pressure Hydrocephalous, Multiple Sclerosis multidisciplinary Team Meetings (MDTs), Neurology, Head and Neck cancer , Thyroid MDTs, Neuro-Oncology, Neurovascular and Spine MDTs.

He has published extensively with more than 40 peer reviewed journal articles.
